The civil parish of Holme St. Cuthbert is a rural area and includes the village of Mawbray and the hamlets of Aikshaw, Beckfoot, Cowgate, Dubmill, Edderside, Goodyhills, Hailforth, Jericho, New Cowper, Newtown, Pelutho, Salta, and Tarns.

Know About Your Parish
Parish Council meetings are generally held on the 3rd Wednesday of January, March, April, May, July, September and November. The Annual Parish Meeting is generally held on the 3rd Wednesday in May of each year unless advertised differently, where the Parish Council report to the community.
Meetings are normally held at 7.30pm in the Holme St. Cuthbert’s Hall, Holme St Cuthberts, Mawbray, CA15 6QZ. Additional meetings are held as necessary. The dates, venue and time are published on the Parish Council notice boards and on this website.
The Parish Council meetings are open to the public, Parishioners can raise issues and discuss them in open forum with the councillors present. The County Councillor, Borough Councillor and the local Police are also invited to attend.
The parish is fortunate in having two halls available for various activities, Culterham Hall in Mawbray and Holme St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall at Holme St. Cuthbert near Goodyhills.
Both are used and are available for hire for private functions.
